  • In a Twitter post by former Coinbase director Conor Grogan, he tried to test Chat GPT-4 by inserting a live Ethereum smart contract into GPT-4 and the chatbot instantly pointed out several security vulnerabilities.
  • Aside from identifying the problems, GPT-4 even pointed out how the code might be exploited.
  • In an earlier experiment, ChatGPT also found that its first version was also capable of spotting code bugs to a reasonable degree.

ChatGPT-4’s Latest Feat: Identifying Security Vulnerabilities in Ethereum Smart Contracts

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been making waves in various industries since late last year. The powerful AI chatbot, ChatGPT, particularly its GPT-4 version, is in the headlines yet again for its incredible capabilities. Not only has it aced a bar exam and other SATs, but it can also identify exploits in Ethereum-based smart contracts.

How GPT-4 Detected Security Vulnerabilities in Ethereum Smart Contracts

According to former Coinbase director Conor Grogan, he put the AI chatbot to the test by inserting a live Ethereum smart contract into GPT-4. The chatbot immediately identified several “security vulnerabilities.”

Aside from identifying the problems, GPT-4 even pointed out how the code might be exploited. Grogan emphasized that the contract he used was actually exploited using the same vulnerabilities the chatbot outlined.

“I believe that AI will ultimately help make smart contracts safer and easier to build, two of the biggest impediments to mass adoption,” he wrote

Wha is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is an advanced AI chatbot based on OpenAI’s GPT-4 architecture. It has demonstrated remarkable capabilities in a variety of fields, including identifying code bugs in its first version to a reasonable degree. This sophisticated AI technology has the potential to revolutionize industries and improve security measures across numerous platforms.

Fraudsters Exploit ChatGPT’s Popularity with Fake Tokens

Last month, due to ChatGPT’s growing popularity, several fraudsters created dozens of fake ChatGPT pump-and-dump tokens, as reported by blockchain security firm PeckShield. The firm stated that there are around 132 tokens issued on BNB Chain, 25 tokens on Ethereum, and 10 separate tokens on other blockchains.

AI Tokens on the Rise

ChatGPT’s success has also led to a surge in AI tokens in the market. AI tokens are cryptocurrencies that leverage AI to enhance factors such as security, scalability, and user experience. These tokens power AI-related projects, including decentralized AI marketplaces, AI-powered portfolio management, and autonomous organizations.
