Elastos – Brief Background
If you own a tangible asset, you can do anything with it. Use it. Keep it. Sell it. This is currently not entirely true with many kinds of digital assets.
For example, the ebook you purchased in Amazon. You don’t really own it. If you look at the Terms and Conditions, Amazon actually just licensed it to you. You cannot sell it. The same is normally true with digital music, videos, and games.
Elastos wants to create an Internet where people can “really” own their digital assets, to make them identifiable, and tradable. Through the blockchain, Elastos will issue IDs to identify who owns what, to know to whom something is sold, and to what extent an item is used. For example, the filmmaker will sell his film. He will know who owns his film, how many times it has been viewed, and even how much it is currently selling for.
