The most established Philippine event is going digital this 2020 as Seamless Philippines Virtual brings together the who’s who across the payments, e-commerce, retail, banking, fintech, and blockchain industries today.
Seamless Philippines Virtual is a 2-day event happening on September 30 to October 1, 2020. Mimicking the setup of past “offline” Seamless events, multiple online channels are set up for each specific industry, each channel will have different industry-related agenda and topics that will be discussed by a mixture of panelists, all of them experts in their field.
For fintech, blockchain, and cryptocurrency stakeholders and enthusiasts, learn from the very people leading the discussion online and offline, from the government and corporate to the grassroots level, as there will be multiple sessions that will talk about those particular topics.

Day 1 Highlight
Learn how the leaders are tackling the problem of financial inclusion in “Shaping a More Inclusive Philippines Through Financial Technology” with Gay Santos, Executive Director at Fintech Alliance Philippines. In “Ensuring Secure Digital Payments,” Cameron Church of LexisNexis Risk Solutions will discuss how online payments are being secured and made safe for the public to use.
There will be a panel on “Innovatives Payments Technology” which would discuss the current advancements and innovation in the payments industry, together with Paul Pajo of Backend Capital, Lee El, COO of Onchain Custodian, Shiela Paul of Home Credit Philippines, Sam Arriola of TrueMoney, and Mark Vernon of TagCash.
Meanwhile, Henry Aguda, SEVP and Chief Transformation Officer at UnionBank will discuss how digital payments help expand inclusion in “Digital Payments & the Unbanked: Making Them Accessible” while the banking heads Lito Villanueva of RCBC, Justo Ortiz of UnionBank, and Arivuvel Ramu of Tonik Bank would have their own panels discussing each of their company’s digital strategy.
Finally, Hari Krishna, formerly of K.B.Z Bank will discuss “Digital Banking 2025: What’s Next?” along with Domingo, Jr. Dayro of Chinabank and Atty. Rafael Padilla of BlockDevs Asia Inc. “Tokenisation and Financial Inclusion” by Rajeev Tummala of HSBC is expected to discuss a familiar topic among cryptocurrency and blockchain enthusiasts.

E-commerce and Digital Channel will take center stage on Seamless Virtual Day 2. Janette Toral, Director of DigitalFilipino will discuss “Digital Marketing for the Modern Consumer Journey” while Danielito Vizcayno, Assistant Vice President for Information Security at BDO will discuss “Fintech: Creating New Identity Solutions.” Also, DTI Asst. Secretary Mary Jean Pacheco will discuss the agency’s e-commerce program.
With the advancement of machine learning and AI, we have seen the rise of chatbots and other products dedicated to automate a number of customer-facing transactions.Paul Morris, Global Sales Manager at Phonexia will discuss “The Future of Call Centers in the Post-COVID-19 Era.”
More on the subject of digital identity, Terry Hartmann, Vice President for Asia Pacific at Cognitec Systems will discuss “Using Face Recognition for Safety, Security & VIP Customers” while Dominador Gamboa, director at the House of Representatives, Ruben Carlo Asuncion, Chief Economist at UnionBank. Bettina Quimson, IT Expert Resource at the Senate, and Frances Nicola Mendez, Law and Policy Consultant at the Department of Information and Communications Technology will discuss the future of National ID in the Philippines.
