Apeiron Announces $1 Million Prize Pool for Inaugural Guild Wars 2024 Tournament

Web3 god game Apeiron recently announced its tournament Apeiron Guild Wars 2024. According to the game, the competition will have a $1 million prize pool, the largest in the game’s history. The tournament will begin with online preliminaries from May to June.

Who can participate?
The media release highlighted that participation is open to the entire web3 community and established guilds. Past Guild Wars Preliminary tournaments have featured participants such as Avocado DAO, GuildFi, W3GG, Zombie Club, Ancient 8, METAT8, Sura, and APE.GG.
Frank Cheng, CEO of Apeiron developer Foonie Magus, stated that the game aims to foster a competitive scene with tournaments for all skill levels, building a strong, community-centric gaming ecosystem.

What to expect?
The Apeiron Guild Wars 2024 will kick off with online preliminaries from May 21 to June 25, culminating in a final in-person event. In addition, guilds will compete for tournament slots on a special Guild PvP online leaderboard running from May 21 to July 2, followed by the SEA Invitational from July 11 to July 14 and the NA Invitational from July 18 to July 21.
Consequently, after the invitational, the top 12 guilds from each region will be invited to the Apeiron Guild Wars 2024, with the semifinals and finals held in Hong Kong in Q3 2024. Participants will compete in a double-elimination bracket tournament, with the top four seeded guilds receiving a first-round bye.
Apeiron stated that the $1 million prize pool will be divided equally between $500,000 in cash and $500,000 in NFTs for the top competitors.
Matches will be streamed on Apeiron’s Twitch channel, with community watch parties on Discord.
Apeiron Past Tournament and News
In March, Apeiron, in collaboration with Talon and United Esports, announced the Apeiron x Talon Nova Tournament, featuring two conferences: the Eastern Conference (Asia) which occurred April 4-6, and the Western Conference (Americas) April 11-13. The $30,000 prize pool is evenly split between the conferences, with rewards ranging from $750 to $5,000.

Apeiron is a casual MOBA that blends elements of god games, roguelites, and battle arenas. Currently in open beta on the Epic Games Store and Mavis Hub, Apeiron plans a full launch later this year. In December 2023, Sky Mavis and Foonie Magus partnered to launch Apeiron on the Ronin Blockchain.
