Coins.ph Partners with Globe to Offer “Redeem Crypto” Service
Users can redeem reward points on GlobeOne app for crypto available on the Coins.ph app.
Home-grown fiat and crypto wallet service provider Coins.ph announced that it has partnered with Globe Telecom Inc. to launch its “Redeem Crypto” Service, wherein prepaid and postpaid subscribers of Globe can exchange their reward points on GlobeOne app for any crypto that is available on Coins.ph app.
It will be available starting today, July 20, 2022, and the crypto purchased by the user can be redeemed at Coins.ph.
“Through the partnership, users can simply redeem rewards points and complete a crypto transaction without using their own money, making it perfect for crypto natives and newcomers alike,” Coins.ph said in a statement.
How to Use Globe Rewards Points to Redeem Crypto
- Login or register or create an account on GlobeOne app.
- Tap on “Rewards” menu.
- Select the desired crypto vouchers offered.
- Choose the desired denomination. (P5, P10, P25, P50, and P100)
- Confirm redemption details.
- Login or register or create an account on Coins.ph app or on its website.
- Verify your account. (Must be Level 2 verified)
- Go to “All Services” section.
- Tap on “Redeem Crypto” option.
- Enter the voucher code provided by the redemption details.
- Choose the crypto to be exchanged for the peso value of the voucher.
At the time of writing, the cryptocurrencies available in the app are BTC, ETH, AXS, SLP, BCH, XRP, USDC, LINK, KNC, MKR, UNI, AAVE, USDT, MATIC, SAND, CHZ, YGG, APE, GALA, ENJ, MANA, LOOKS, BAT, and SHIB.
Alongside this announcement, Coins.ph also did ask GlobeOne app users to keep in mind that crypto values are highly volatile and prices may go up and down in real-time.
“To help manage this risk, Coins.ph extended the validity of voucher codes obtained via Globe Rewards until July 15, 2023. This way, users can redeem anytime and anywhere they want. Terms and conditions apply,” it added.
According to Wei Zhou, chief executive officer (CEO) of Coins.ph, this newly offered “Redeem Crypto” service is part of the company’s goal to empower Filipinos in their quest for financial freedom.
“Customers can now take advantage of mainstream loyalty programs such as Globe Rewards for a low- or almost zero-risk approach to get started with their crypto journey. At the same time, we’re also opening opportunities for businesses to diversify their loyalty program offerings to remain competitive and maximize their potential for growth,” Zhou stressed.
While Globe Rewards Head Jerome Patalud reiterated that Globe users must do their due diligence on the rules and regulations that center around the emerging digital asset market conditions.
Just last month, Nix Eniego of Axie Infinity revealed that Globe expressed its desire to be a partner of Sky Mavis, the blockchain game’s developer, and other play-to-earn publishers to “elevate gaming experience in the country.”
