Djinn Game Asset App Finds New ‘Master’ for Fresh Start
Djinn, a decentralized inventory application for crypto game assets, has been acquired, its founder Joe Josue announced.
What’s the significance: A project acquisition means there is a change in leadership, and possibly, a change in style—that could either have a bad effect or make the app better. However, Josue assured that the new owners have a good vision and execution ability.
Key Details: The acquisition was announced by Josue on October 7, 2024.
- Who acquired the project? Josue said that he cannot disclose yet the acquirer, but he expressed his excitement with their vision and execution ability.
The Big Picture: Djinn first introduced itself in 2021. Josue acquired it in April 2024
- The #CryptoPH Champion shared that he was the one to design the app’s UI prototype out of his personal frustration from playing crypto games.
Djinn Key Features: As of this writing, the app is still not fully launched, and waitlisting for interested users is ongoing. Its promised features are:
- Safety: Users are not required to connect their web3 wallets. This means that they can manage their crypto game assets by just putting an input and label in their wallet addresses holding in-game NFTs.
- Organizing Tool: Users can search, filter, group, and tag their valuable gaming items to keep their collection in perfect access. They can filter assets by price, chain, game, and type.
- Basic Info Display: Users can access key information for each of their in-game NFT, what wallet holds these assets, what chain, and the game associated with them. They can also monitor their assets’ date of purchase and their ROI based on marketplace info.
- Note: Those who want to join the waitlist can go to djinn.app/waitlist.
However, Josue expressed in an April 2024 post on X that he is targeting for the project to receive funding of at least $50,000. There was no update since then.
Zoom Out: Joe Josue is the co-founder of Metasports, an IP house centered on web3 gaming and esports focusing on esports experiences, creator networks, and news media.
- In early 2023, he personally acquired Kusho World, an almost dying NFT collection after its original founders left the project during the recent bear market.
- Between the lines: Since then, Josue presented his plans for the NFT collection and Kusho World saw progress on what was left.
- Ending 2024 with a bang, Kusho World rebranded as a community protocol utilizing its NFT collection and launched a marketplace where users can buy using crypto.
What’s Next for Joe Josue? Josue highlighted that he will still continue building for #CryptoPH community.
