Pixels and Forgotten Runiverse Partner to Integrate $PIXEL Token into Web3 Fantasy Game
On April 3, web3 gaming entities Pixels and Forgotten Runiverse announced a partnership to integrate $PIXEL into the latter.

In the media release, Pixels and Forgotten Runiverse said the partnership is a “significant milestone” toward building “interoperable web3 economies and scaling player-first gaming experiences,” while also helping Pixels push $PIXEL as a token used across multiple games.
- The $PIXEL token is the native utility and governance token within the Pixels ecosystem.
- According to the media release, Pixels has already implemented $PIXEL in two live games, including its core game and Pixel Dungeons.
To celebrate the collaboration, special in-game quests will launch, and an exclusive Forgotten Runiverse avatar will be available in Pixels before the official $PIXEL integration.
- The announcement also noted that through the collaboration, players can use the in-game currency Quanta to earn $PIXEL rewards and spend $PIXEL on Mana, Boosts, and special event items in the Font of Memory (Gacha) system.
- In addition, the firms highlighted that the partnership will generate valuable data to optimize player engagement and play-to-earn (P2E) strategies.

Pixels is a web3 social gaming platform with over 10 million players; it combines farming, exploration, and community building in an open-world setting.
- In 2023, the game transitioned from Polygon to Ronin to take advantage of lower gas fees, expert guidance from the developer team, and access to Mavis Hub, Ronin’s dedicated distribution platform for web3 games.
- In the Philippines, Filipinos led global engagement for the game in 2024, with local players, guilds like YGG, and Ronin stakers benefiting significantly from the Pixels’ airdrop. What is the Forgotten Runiverse?
Forgotten Runiverse is a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) set in a world where magic has faded after the Wizards vanished long ago. It follows a story where a dark force has spread across the land, but now a portal has opened, and the Wizards are returning to restore the world. The game migrated to ronin in July 2024.
- Earlier this year, the game launched the “Crash the Runiverse” campaign to stress-test its servers while allowing players to farm airdrop points, with Quanta that can be converted into the ecosystem token $XP and exclusive cosmetic rewards.
