YouTube Accounts of Ben&Ben, Multiple Artists Hacked To Promote XRP-Related Crypto Scam
Popular Filipino band Ben&Ben’s official YouTube account was hacked, now showing a live video promoting XRP. Multiple accounts of other artists have been reportedly hacked as well.
What’s the significance: High profile accounts are being targeted to display cryptocurrency-related scams disguised as videos or online advertisements. This could affect Ben&Ben fans who might be misled by the scam.
The numbers: Ben&Ben has 3.02 million followers on YouTube, thus the scam could impact a large number of people if they are unaware of the situation.

Fortunately, the band has already warned its fans about the Youtube page.

As of 2:15pm, Ben&Ben said they have recovered a significant part of their YouTube but is still awaiting the response of their partners to address the matter.

Other artists YouTube pages have also been hacked, according to a commenter on Reddit. This includes SB19 and Rico Blanco.
In 2020, a high-profile attack at Twitter hacked accounts of prominent global personalities to promote a crypto scam as well.
- In 2022, the account of influential NFT artist Beeple was hacked.
- The Department of Health’s Twitter account was also not spared in 2023, claiming it will “pump Ether.”
