Axie Infinity to Make Changes to Update Breeding Methods

Axie Infinity, a popular play-to-earn game, announced today it’ll be releasing game updates as soon as next week.
“We are still working on the final details, but one feature will change how Axie levels reset when sent to a new account. Once this new update is released, an Axie’s level will reset to level one when gifted.” the developers said in a statement.
In this update, just the act of giving the Axie will reset its level and will no longer require Axies being synced in-game.
“We realize this could impact your breeding methods, so we wanted to inform you early on so you can make any necessary adjustments. Ultimately, these changes are needed to prevent abuse of the energy system.” they added.
Accordingly, the September updates of the game features acceleration in the development of the upcoming battle system, Axie Infinity: Origin also known as Battles v2 and Land Gameplay. (Read more on: Axie Infinity Unveils September 2021 Updates)
Moreover, last Friday, October 1, Axie Infinity announced the launch of a staking program for its Axie Infinity Shards (AXS), one of its in-game tokens, allowing players to lock up AXS and earn AXS rewards.
Recently, Sky Mavis, the developers of the game, successfully raised $152 million from A16z in a series B round to be used to build its global team, scale its infrastructure and build a distribution platform that game developers can use to create and distribute their blockchain games. Last month, Sky Mavis, the developers of the game, and its players produced $2.05 billion gross sales for Axie Infinity, making it the leading NFT collection in terms of its all-time sales according to measurement firm DappRadar.
In the Philippines, where the majority of it’s players are situated, the game and its Vietnam-based developers, are under the country’s regulator’s close monitoring.
