The Bicol Blockchain Community has released the complete list of speakers for the third edition of the Bicol Blockchain Conference (BBC 2024) that is set to happen tomorrow, December 7, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. onwards, at Ayala Malls Legazpi Cinema, 4/F Ayala Malls Legazpi, Quezon Ave, Legazpi Port District, Legaspi, Albay, Philippines.

What’s the significance: With the list of speakers now released, the organizers said that BBC 2024 is designed to inspire and equip the Bicolano tech community to lead in the digital age through insightful keynote speeches, dynamic panel discussions, and engaging fireside chats.

  • Michael Mislos, the founder and editor-in-chief of BitPinas, the longest-running crypto publication in the Philippines established in 2017.
    • He is the first writer to cover local cryptocurrency and blockchain developments in the Philippines full-time and has been at the forefront of the country’s crypto and web3 revolution.
  • Lexus Dela Cruz, a content creator also known as Kookoo Crypto TV, who became popular for his guides about Axie Infinity: Classic
    • He is currently the ambassador of local crypto exchange Coins.ph, gaming guild protocol YGG Global, and gaming chain Ronin Network.
  • Leslie Diana Apongol, the chief marketing officer of MetaGaming Guild, spearheading content creation, public relations, and marketing strategy implementation.
    • With a background in producing content for multinational companies, Apongol transitioned from tourism to academia and digital marketing, bringing creativity and expertise to every project she undertakes.
  • Jhobert Baquisal, a Bicol Axie Express Guild leader, focusing on creating a supportive community and empowering players to elevate their skills and succeed in the arena.

  • Georgeson “Gson” Yssrael Guray, the head of business development for LBank Philippines, focusing on building partnerships and creating opportunities to engage users.

    • Currently, Labor is also a full-time faculty member (on special detail) of the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Mass Communication (UP CMC), teaching undergraduate and graduate communication research and theory courses. He holds a Ph.D. in Communication.

  • Arravind Prabu, the chief executive officer of CryptoBilis.
    • Under his leadership, CryptoBilis has expanded its presence across five nations and cultivated partnerships with over 100 key stakeholders.
    • Prabu is also the president of ACCESS Blockchain Association Malaysia, collaborating with local and international stakeholders to advance the industry’s development and influence.
      • Overall, he is a community builder and an advocate for entrepreneurship.
  • Mark Joseph Bago, the leader behind Sandbox Academy, an initiative dedicated to empowering the next generation of creators in The Sandbox Metaverse.
    • He is a four-time Top 10 game jam winner and a seasoned Level Artist and Game Designer at Smobler Studios. 
    • According to Bago, he is passionate about blending innovation with education and is committed to inspiring creativity and shaping the future of gaming in the Philippines and beyond.
  • Winston Brillantes, the senior growth manager at Axie Infinity. He is known for Pos2.
    • From the rise of Axie Classic to the integration of Axie Core features, Pos2 has played a key role in shaping updates that balance player feedback and innovation.
  • Andy Agnas, the founder and chief executive officer of AstraX Capital, a global venture capital firm that specializes in supporting and incubating early-stage startups.
    • He founded Astra Interactive Studios Inc., a development and gaming studio; SparkPoint Technologies Inc., an IT and blockchain technology company based in Legazpi City, Albay; and MetaGaming Guild, a web3 gaming guild and one of the official validators in Ronin Network.
    • Agnas also established Oasis Infinity Ventures Inc., which operates Seattle’s Best Coffee franchises in the Bicol region, and Terra Summit Realty Corporation, a company engaged in real estate investment and management.

  • Luis Buenaventura, the head of cryptocurrencies (GCrypto) at GCash.
    • He was formerly the Philippine country manager of Yield Guild Games, a web3 startup, and a cofounder at BloomX, a licensed cryptocurrency exchange. 
    • Buenaventura was one of the world’s first NFT artists (CurioCards, 2017), and is the first Filipino NFT artist to have work sold at Christie’s and Sotheby’s.
    • In September 2021, he founded the Cryptopop Art Guild, a non-profit generating sustainable income for underprivileged Filipino artists.
