CZ: Crypto Industry Players Must Help Each Other During A Crisis
“Any single project failure has spillover effects on multiple fronts: investors lose confidence, the mainstream media paints a negative picture and, most importantly, people do get hurt. Most industry players do want to help each other out — especially when there’s a crisis.”
This is the statement of Changpeng Zhao, aka CZ, founder and CEO at Binance, during his opening statement on the CoinMarketCap’s “The Capital: Time to Ship Conference,” a virtual event hosted in the metaverse by CoinMarketCap (CMC), last May 26th and 27th, 2022.
During his keynote address, CZ mentioned some of the recent issues in the blockchain, including the Ronin Hack, and how Binance helped Sky Mavis, the developer of blockchain game Axie Infinity, to recover through cash injection.
In addition, he stressed that he wants to help social media giant Twitter transition to Web3, and be a platform for free speech.
Meanwhile, the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange emphasized that the current bearish momentum that the market is experiencing is still part of the movement.
He also highlighted that during the bear market, where the value of crypto is crashing down, “trying to sell before a loss is a trader mentality.”
CZ was the very first keynote speaker during the conference, with a topic of “The State of Crypto.”
Earlier this month, the CEO gave a hint about his excitement to be a speaker at the said conference.
Alongside CZ as speaker were Michael Saylor of MicroStrategy, Samson Mow of JAN3, Jaynti Kanani of Polygon, Sebastien Borget of The Sandbox, and many more.
