Almost a month after the success of the Cebu meetup organized by global exchange giant Binance, a number of meetups are also set to happen in the Visayas region, according to Jeff Caceres, also known as NomadFury and founder of Web3 Lounge.

“So far, we are still in the early stages of building the Web3 communities in the Visayas group of islands. As of the moment, we are slowly growing and evolving because of the activities that we are doing in Cebu, Bacolod, etc. But with great belief, commitment and consistency in doing activities and events in the Visayas, I believe we will continue growing and evolving. We just don’t want Web3-related events to be focused only on the National Capital Region for most of the time, but also on other areas like the Visayas group of islands,” Caceres emphasized.

According to the Bacolod native, the first event will be the Web3 Bacolod community meetup on February 18, 2023, at the McDonald’s NXTGEN The Upper East after a successful one last January 7. The main agenda of the said meetup is to build a local web3 community in the City of Smiles.

Caceres (@cryptoinsanity) is guest on the BitPinas Twitter Space on Feb. 9, 2023.

“We will be having guest speakers (including me) who will be revealed soon who will be sharing their projects as well as participating in our panel discussion,” he added.

As per Caceres, February will be a busy month for the web3 community in the Visayas as the next event will be the Cebu Blockchain Group meetup, co-organized with blockchain security specialist Simon McAuliffe, on February 23 at the Civet Coffee IT Park Cebu.

“They are one of our umbrellas for Web3 Cebu and currently one of the community partners. However, this kind of meetup is in an informal setup where we just simply go with the flow on what they are discussing about the tech and development side of blockchain, Web3, etc,” the web3 builder explained.

Moreover, Coins.ph will also have their own Cebu Crypto Night on February 24, followed by a community meetup on February 25. No other information are announced as of this writing. The Bitcoin Island Retreat, meanwhile, will happen in Boracay in March 27.

Consequently, the very first Web3 Leyte community meetup is also set to happen on March 24, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Ormoc City. According to Caceres, he is included in the target list of guest speakers and a panel discussion on what is next for the Web3 growth in the Leyte province will be highlighted.

Then on March 12, another first thing is set to happen—the Web3 Bohol Community Meetup, in partnership with Sprout Up Bohol, at theYokoy’s Cafe in Tagbilaran City. The Bacolod native confirmed that the program details are yet to be finalized but they will be updated soon.

And lastly, Caceres will be among the keynote speakers to talk about changing the narrative on NFT staking in Web3 games at the Crypto Staking Conference 2023 to be held at the Summit Hotel in Marasbaras, Tacloban City on March 25.

During the Binance Cebu Meetup, Binance Philippines General Manager Kenneth Stern emphasized that Cebu has a high potential in the crypto industry because of the crypto enthusiasts based in the province, adding that the global crypto exchange is looking forward to helping Cebu develop as a leading technology hub in the country through exploring collaborations with its local government.

“And we’re not stopping there. We’re going to expand our Web3 community meetups and activities in Boracay, Iloilo, Capiz, Antique, Aklan, Dumaguete City and Samar province this year. Their respective schedules are yet to be determined as of the moment,” Caceres concluded.
