All the above partners will debut on ODX’s blockchain-based data marketplace, including Booking.com, a very popular e-commerce travel website. Since ODX’s platform is “data-free”, anyone can book online without having “internet data” when Booking.com is accessed via ODX.

This, according to founder Nix Nolledo, will remove the most significant friction to the partner brands – the fact that these websites cannot be accessed without an Internet connection. Once this friction is removed, “customers use apps longer and more often. More time online leads to higher revenue,” said Mr. Nolledo in a statement.

ODX is a subsidiary of Xurpas, a technology firm that is publicly listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange. As of October 15, 2018, ODX has raised a commitment of more than $60 million from its private sale conducted in Singapore. ODX is backed by blockchain funds like Pantera Capital and BlockTower Capital. It is also supported by popular blockchain personalities like Brock Pierce and Randy Kaplan (of Akamai).
