Feature News: Globe Telecom Launches Tokenized Rewards Program
Globe Telecom has teamed up with The Binary Holdings to introduce a tokenized rewards program, offering $BNRY tokens to customers for engaging in activities like video streaming and in-app purchases.
What’s the significance: It will incentivize Globe customers to engage more with its services, providing tangible rewards that can be used for discounts or passive income.
- It also reflects a broader trend of integrating web3 technologies into mainstream services, offering new ways for companies to retain and engage customers.
How it will work:
- Globe customers earn $BNRY tokens by viewing or creating content on Fando.
- Additional tokens are awarded through a cashback service for in-app purchases, which can be used for discounts or accumulated for passive income.
The numbers: Globe Telecom said it serves nearly 59.5 million mobile subscribers, all of whom could benefit from this tokenized rewards program.
Note: Crypto and web3 are not new to Globe. It has partnered with Coins.ph in the past for crypto rewards:
- A partnership with MetaverseGo.
- A metaverse virtual hangout in 2022.
- A partnership with YGG in 2023.
What to watch out for: Globe may expand its tokenized rewards offerings or integrate more blockchain-based services depending on the success of this initial partnership.
