Feature News: GAM3 Awards 2024 to Be Held at YGG Play Summit in the Philippines

The GAM3 Awards 2024 will hold its first-ever in-person ceremony on November 22 at the YGG Play Summit in Manila, Philippines.

Traditionally an online event, this year’s awards will bring together top figures in the web3 gaming industry, including developers, founders, and key opinion leaders.

Why is this important: It marks a shift in how the GAM3 Awards is being organized, as well as highlights the Philippines’ position as still the global hub for web3 games.

While the GAM3 Awards will honor the creators behind the games, it also offers attendees a chance to explore and learn more about the web3 games they play—or discover new ones.

Key details:

GAM3S.GG, the host of the awards, has partnered with Yield Guild Games (YGG), the world’s largest network of web3 gamers, to bring the event to the Philippines.
It will take place at SM Aura in BGC and is part of the weeklong YGG Play Summit.

Background of both events:

Now dubbed the “GDC of web3 gaming,” YGG’s annual November event that first began in 2022 in the Philippines features a mix of expos, hackathons, tournaments, and more.

The GAM3 Awards were established in 2022 to recognize excellence in web3 gaming.
- Last year, over 450,000 votes were cast, with the trading card game Parallel taking home multiple awards, including Game of the Year.
- Other winners included My Pet Hooligan for Best Action Game and Pixels for Best Casual Game.
