Bitwise Asset Management’s CIO, Matt Hougan, predicts Ethereum could exceed $5,000 following the launch of Ethereum ETFs.
What’s the significance: Hougan believes ETF inflows will create significant demand, driving Ethereum prices to new highs.
The numbers: Similar to Bitcoin’s price increase after its ETFs, Ethereum is expected to see substantial growth.
- Hougan forecasts $15 billion in new assets for Ethereum ETFs in the first 18 months, Decrypt reported.
- Ethereum is currently trading at around $3,400.
ETFs provide a way for investors to gain exposure to Ethereum through traditional brokerage accounts, increasing accessibility and demand.
- However: Initial weeks may be volatile as funds transition from the Grayscale Ethereum Trust to ETFs.
What to look forward to: The launch of spot Ethereum ETFs on July 23 and the SEC’s approval process.
