Feature News: Can Bitcoin Reach $100K in February 2025?

Bitcoin network economist Timothy Peterson predicts Bitcoin could hit $100,000 within three months, noting that the cryptocurrency’s recent consolidation phase signals the start of a bull run.

This is a significant milestone if it does happen. Bitcoin price hit a new all-time high (which is near $73,000) last March. However, it barely put a dent when it comes to significant mainstream attention, unlike in 2021 and 2017.

Here are his observations (shared in a Twitter post that is highlighted by Cointelegraph):

The current run of Bitcoin right is not “meaningfully different” from prior price paths.
A move just above the current trend (see image below) could put Bitcoin at $100,000 in 90 days.
A conservative outcome (the red line in the image below) still puts Bitcoin at $100,000 by February 2024.

He also thinks a drop below $50,000 is becoming less likely. He also thinks the price path will happen regardless of who wins the U.S. elections.
