Recap: BitPinas Davao Crypto Community Meetup
BitPinas, in collaboration with platinum sponsors and co-organizers The Whizkid Academy and Coinex Charity, as well as gold sponsor Coins.ph, successfully concluded a community meetup in Davao City, bringing together crypto enthusiasts in Davao and from across the country.
Event details:
- Held on July 25, 2024, in Davao City, the BitPinas Crypto Community Meetup featured opening remarks from Michael Lance and a keynote speech from Michael Mislos, editor-in-chief of BitPinas.Â
- The event included segments from Joseph Lejarde of Whizkid Academy, Dell Omasas of Coinex Charity, Floi Wycoco of Coins.ph, and JC Cadiz, community manager at Coins.ph.
- Finally, crypto conversations panel, discussing the next half of 2024 featuring the following panelists.
- The panel discussions emphasized the importance of strategic planning, security, and education in financial markets and blockchain technology, along with the role of government support and knowledgeable partnerships.

- Attendance: Over 100 crypto enthusiasts.
- Duration: Scheduled for 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, extended beyond 10:00 PM.
- Prizes: Five attendees won ₱1000-worth of USDC from Coinex Charity.
What’s next: BitPinas plans to continue organizing meetups, with a focus on different regions in the Philippines to further drive crypto education and adoption.
Worth reading: Before this, BitPinas already held two meetups called #CryptoPH Conversations; one in October 2023 and another one last May–this featured Florin Hilbay, a former Solicitor General and a current dean in Silliman University College of Law.
