- Web3: Read-Write-Own (users retain personal control of their digital identities, assets, and data using cryptography and tokenized ownership).
- Decentralized Storage & Execution: Instead of relying on central servers owned by Big Tech, Web3 applications (dApps) execute code across distributed peer-to-peer networks (like Ethereum, Solana, or Polygon) and decentralized file storage systems (like IPFS).
- Wallet-Based Identity: Rather than creating accounts using an email address or password managed by third-party servers, users sign into Web3 dApps using self-custodial digital wallets (e.g., MetaMask or phantom), maintaining sovereign control over their identity and credentials.
- Tokenomics & Community Governance: Web3 protocols frequently use native crypto tokens and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) to reward community participation, distribute fee revenues, and grant voting rights on software updates.
