In this era where a cost-free airdrop is already a blessing, this includes farming points by doing social tasks and joining testnet campaigns.

zkPass Introduction

zkPass (https://zkpass.org/) is a soon-to-launch private data protocol that uses three-party transport layer security and hybrid zero-knowledge (ZK) technologies.

“zkPass, a privacy-preserving protocol for private data verification. It is built on the foundation of Multi-Party Computation (MPC), Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP), and three-party Transport Layer Security (3P-TLS),” the team introduced the protocol.

Once launched, it is expected to offer tools and applications for secure, verifiable data sharing with privacy and integrity assurances.

It will enable users to validate their data from any HTTPS website selectively, which covers various data types, including legal identity, financial records, healthcare information, social interactions, work experience, education, and skill certifications.

The zkPass developers state that these verifications are done securely locally and privately, without the need to disclose or upload sensitive personal data to third parties.

“zkPass can be readily incorporated into multiple application scenarios, including composable decentralized identity passes, DeFi lending protocols relying on off-chain credit, privacy-ensured healthcare data marketplaces, and dating apps featuring verifiable zkSBTs, and more,” the protocol promoted.

“Wherever there is a need for trust and privacy, zkPass can provide a solution.”

zkPass Use Cases

One of its flagship features is “zkKYC,” which utilizes ZK proofs for KYC processes. This feature is said to protect sensitive personal information while complying with regulatory requirements:

“By leveraging the power of zero-knowledge proofs and multi-party computation, zkKYC offers a privacy-preserving, secure, and efficient identity verification solution for financial institutions, businesses, and users.”

Additionally, zkPass developers stressed that it can be used for governance and voting systems of blockchain-based protocols, as zkPass is also designed to be a solution as a privacy-preserving identity protocol:

“It enables users to authenticate privately and verifiably without revealing their personal information or identity. zkPass is a secure and scalable alternative to traditional authentication mechanisms that can be easily integrated into existing systems, providing improved security, enhanced privacy, and increased trust in digital governance and voting.”

zkPass claims to be an interoperable, scalable, and cost-effective protocol that would address privacy and security concerns for other use cases, such as finance, social networking, health, education, and even research:

“From Web3 to Web2, from decentralized finance, DAO, and NFT to social networking, online banking, e-commerce, education, medical & healthcare, and IoT devices, among others. zkPass is paving the way for a more secure, private, and trust-based digital ecosystem, where privacy and security are no longer a luxury, but a fundamental right for everyone.”

zkPass’ roadmap emphasizes that its mainnet launch is set to happen this year. This could be the reason behind its current campaign.

According to the team, the campaign will follow a points system called $ZKP Credit. One ZKP point equals one $ZKP.

There are two ways to farm ZKP credits—through social tasks and through joining its pre-alpha testnet campaign.

As of this writing, there is still no information available until when this campaign will run.
