Statement from TeamAsia about the Philippine Fintech Festival 2020.

TeamAsia sent a letter announcing the cancellation of the Philippine Fintech Festival, set to happen in September 2020. The organizers cite the COVID-19 pandemic and the similar actions made by other major events in the Philippines and abroad.

Statement follows:

The Organizing Committee would like to express our gratitude to everyone for supporting the Philippine Fintech Festival 2020 (PFF 2020). This historic event would have been a great opportunity for people and brands to further tech up as the industry continues to innovate Filipino consumers and businesses.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and taking similar action as other major international events, it is with deep regret that we announce that the PFF 2020 will not be pushing through as scheduled. Rest assured that together with our partners from both the private and public sectors, the safety and well-being of all attendees, partners, and staff are our priority.

We are rallying everyone to continue the efforts at flattening the curve through continued strict physical distancing and in following the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and relevant government agencies. Let’s do our part in working together to fight and mitigate the impact of COVID-19. Please visit http://www.philippinefintechfestival.com/ for further information and updates.
