An international research group focused on the standardization of Internet of Things and the Blockchain Technology was formed. According to Science and Technology Daily, China is chosen to lead the team.

The creation of the international research group led by China is from the committee members of the joint technical committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This is after a month of discussion.

China being at the helm of the group means that it has won the “discourse power” in technology integration. The official newspaper of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China said that it is very significant for the country to be the one leading the global development and promoting the integration of fiat and digital economy.

Dr. Shen Jie is the chair of the research group that will promote the fiat-digital integration. The group will provide numerous industrial application scenarios and to also promote the international standardization for IoT and blockchain tech.

Aside from China, other countries are also included such as United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and France.

An Internet of Things Summit event in the Philippines is scheduled for August 17-18, 2018. The event will focus on this new technology, which can possibly be the new norm in the future.
