Coingeek.com and Mr. Calvin Ayre are doing their part to solve the shortage of experienced blockchain developers in the world by contributing over $150,000, which will be used to fund a blockchain developer program in the Philippines.

CoinGeek partnered with StackLab, a StackTrek Enterprises’ company, as an on-the-ground operator of the program. StackLab seeks for the next techno hub in the Philippines and they choose the city of Iloilo as the first city to convene the blockchain training programs.

At least 50 developers will be trained on development skills on the Bitcoin Cash BCH blockchain. The trainees will then get filtered through a coding tournament using an unbiased programmer capability evaluation test funded by the World Bank and recognized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). Participants who get the top two levels (top 2% and 11%) will qualify for the StackLab program.

Developers who complete the 6-months training program will also receive support from StackLab to find employment with the aim to make Iloilo city one of the newest technology centers in the Philippines.

nChain, a leader in blockchain research and development based in London, UK will also help in the program. The company will assist in shaping the program’s curriculum and will also provide the trainees with projects to test their newly found skills.
