October 31, 2018. With blockchain events and blockchain education concentrated on the capital of the Philippines, Manila, other initiatives such as CoinGeek-backed StackTrek brings it to the central part of the country – Iloilo City. The initiative aims to produce more blockchain developers with a focus on Bitcoin Cash-related projects.

A pre-training tournament was held in Iloilo to screen a total of 650 developers. The trainees were tested using an “unbiased programmer capability evaluation test funded by the World Bank” that is also recognized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). It was a city-wide event supported by the mayor of Iloilo and the chairwoman of the Education Council.

Together with StackLab is nChain that will help in shaping the training program’s curriculum as well as providing the projects the trainees can work on.

During the six-month training program, trainees will get a BCH programming education and will also receive support from StackLab in finding employment.

According to StackLab’s Co-Founder, Mr. Bill Yuen, they are also touring different schools to spread the word about the blockchain technology apart from hosting the coding tournament.
