A new crypto hub opens its doors in Ortigas. The Bangkok-based Global Crypto Hub just launched its base office in the metro to complement its plans to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in the country this year.

Mr. Jagdish Pandya, the co-founder of the Global Crypto Hub, stated that his company invested $50,000 to develop the hub in Ortigas. Built to create awareness on blockchain tech and its own ICO, Mr. Pandya said his company is also planning to run roadshows in Cebu and Davao.

“The Global Crypto Hub is our entry point to the Philippines. The first step is to create awareness in the people, giving them knowledge,” – Mr. Jagdish Pandya, Co-Founder, Global Crypto Hub

Usereum

Along with the Global Crypto Hub, the company also plans to launch an ICO in the country for the Usereum token. This will be done after the business acquires the approval of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission. Usereum use-case is primarily on day-to-day bills and utilities.

“We are also willing to have a dialogue with the Philippine government for the possible use of Usereum for public utilities such as phone bill, taxi bill, gas, your day-to-day life,” – Mr. Jagdish Pandya, Co-Founder, Global Crypto Hub

Usereum is also intended to be used for remittances.

There are millions of overseas Filipinos who are losing a large amount of money through remittances, as charged by international money transfer companies,” – Mr. Jagdish Pandya, Co-Founder, Global Crypto Hub

Editor’s note: Usereum’s website can be found here. The project still doesn’t have a whitepaper, but there’s an existing lightpaper that details the company’s plans for it.

Cryptocurrency in the Philippines

Perhaps because the SEC issued a cease-and-desist order to the KROPS ICO, the Global Crypto Hub is making all necessary legalities to make sure it is not hindered by regulation.

“We welcome the government to come along the journey with us to make the cryptocurrency industry more regulated. There’s a burning desire to open not just in the Philippines, but also in India and Bangkok in the next two months,” – Mr. Shahan Pilli, Founder, Global Crypto Hub

Global Crypto Hub’s headquarters is in Bangkok and is founded in 2017. Check out its website here.
