Huobi Launches Blockchain Phone with Crypto Wallet

September 4, 2019 – Huobi announces Acute Angle, a blockchain phone with a built-in crypto wallet.

The Acute Angle blockchain phone will retail for $515 and made by Whole Network, which is a startup that Huobi had invest in. This phone can also be purchased using Huobi’s native token HT for half the price.

Currently available in China, Huobi plans to launch it in Southeast Asia by Q4 2019. Along with the blockchain phone, Huobi will also launch NODE, the native token of Whole Network and the Acute Angle blockchain phone on September 11, 2019.

In a press release, CEO Livio Weng thinks blockchain phones are a promising future area for blockchain industry development. As 5G becomes integrated into more and more devices, Huobi believes more people will want to trade and transact from mobile devices. Thus the necessity to optimize phones for blockchain.

The Acute Angle is an Android phone that has features catering to cryptocurrency traders such us “programmable notification feature that alerts the user when certain market conditions are met.” For example, notifying when prices are dropping or rising. There is also a mining/task reward feature that airdrop NODE tokens.

The phone, as mentioned, has a built-in wallet app along with pre-installed blockchain-related apps and dapps.

Instead of launching a phone, Samsung added blockchain support to its current flagship phones the Galaxy S10.
