September 6, 2019 – Samsung is releasing a crypto-friendly edition of its flagship Galaxy Note 10 in South Korea.

First revealed by the Wall Street Journal, this Galaxy Note 10 is marketed as “KlaytnPhone” launched in partnership with GroundX. Klaytn is the blockchain project of messaging app and fintech company Kakao.

The KlaytnPhone is really the Note 10 with a different name but also comes pre-installed with blockchain apps and a crypto wallet. Phone buyers will also receive Klay Tokens. What’s exclusive here is that KlaytnPhone will “support full-scale transactions” on the Klaytn network.

It is worth noting that Samsung’s Galaxy S10 comes with built-in support for blockchain apps. In the most recent news from Coindesk, S10 is now supporting 33 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ether, Kukoin Shares, NEM, Qtum, etc. On August 30, 2019, Samsung said it added support for stablecoins TrueUSD, Maker, and USD Coin.
