November 20, 2018. Dsion, a global blockchain funding platform based in South Korea is going to Singapore and the Philippines to host a startup challenge. With a prize pool of $20,000, this event will help grow and support incoming local startups.

The startup challenge will kick off in Singapore and will be called Dsion Startup Challenge 2018. It will also host the same challenge in the Philippines but no date was released as of press time.

The goal of the challenge is to encourage new ideas from local entrepreneurs and businesses who have a clear vision on how to make the future better.

For entrepreneurs, startups, and businesses who want to join, they should submit their best business pitch. The deadline is on November 25, 2018. Aside from pitching the idea, it should also have a realistic forecast of a successful future and growth.

These proposals will undergo a series of eliminations from a panel of judges who are financial advisers, marketers, investment, startup, and blockchain experts. A shortlist of six candidates will then be produced by November 29 and these six will go head to head on the event finale on December 9 at PSB Academy City Campus, Marina Square.

The winning proposal will receive $15,000, the runner-up will get $3,000, and the second runner-up will be rewarded with $2000. This is also a great avenue for them to get known and gather support.

Pitching sessions in the blockchain space in the Philippines is not new. There are multiple numbers of pitching events that happened in the country but in this event, the organizers are willing to reward the winner with $15000 for the first prize.

Another event is also brewing in the blockchain circle but doesn’t include pitching but more of a way for developers and programmers learn more about blockchain. DISH – Decentralized Innovation Startup Hackathon is the first ever community-led blockchain hackathon that is going to happen in the country on November 24 – 25. It will help broaden the pool of blockchain developers in the country by also giving the winning teams monetary rewards and co-working space credits.
