During the late 90’s, kids were going crazy over a digital pet that they could feed, train, and even watch grow over time. The same concept can be seen with Dogami, a Petaverse version of the said toy.

Dogami is the first of its kind on the Tezos blockchain where dog lovers can adopt their own digital creature and use augmented reality (AR) to be able to interact with these adorable creatures. Owners can feed them, train them, and breed them to earn DOGA, Dogami’s native currency. Users can use DOGA to purchase clothes and items and use it to breed their virtual pets and trade rare breeds in the marketplace.

Dogami was able to raise funds worth $500,000 from Tezos Foundation, a Swiss foundation supervised by the Swiss Federal Foundation supervisory authority, to make this project possible, serving as a milestone for the developers. Dogami is based on the Tezos blockchain and is continuously developing to build momentum in the blockchain gaming industry.

Dogami was co-founded by Max Stoeckl (CEO, previously BCG), Bilal El Alamy (CTO, Blockchain serial entrepreneur), Adrien Magdelaine (COO, previously Wamiz, pet industry serial entrepreneur), and Kristofer D. Penseyres (CBO, previously Sony Pictures, Branding & Partnership) in 2021 in 2021. The game developer has earlier raised $6 million from investors like Animoca Brands, Ubisoft, XAnge Ventures, and more.

Tezos Foundation aims to promote and develop new technologies and applications in decentralized software architectures. One example of this is the Tezos Protocol, whose role is to deploy resources that support the long-term future of the Tezos Project.

Some pet lovers cannot acquire their dream pet in real life. However, through Dogami’s augmented reality, they can interact with their virtual pet on a daily basis.

Dogami is planning to have a blockchain game beta launched, introducing DeFi features such as farming and staking and implementation of augmented reality features within the second quarter of 2022. In the third quarter of this year, tDOGAMÍ mobile games and deployment of the Petaverse and Petaverse real estate agency are expected to launch.
