  • Former US President Donald Trump’s non-fungible token (NFT) collection, the Trump Digital Trading Cards, was sold out two days after its release.
  • The collection, which features 45,000 fantasy-themed NFTs with images of Trump in a style similar to collectible baseball cards, has a total volume of approximately $7.2 million.
  • Purchasing a Trump Digital Trading Card automatically qualifies the buyer for a chance to win prizes including a dinner with Trump in Miami and a cocktail hour at Mar-a-Lago.

While receiving mixed reactions from the NFT community as well as in the mainstream, former US President Donald Trumps’ non-fungible token (NFT) collection Trump Digital Trading Cards was sold out 2 days after its release.

As per the data from OpenSea, as of writing, the collection’s total volume is 6,066 ETH (approximately ₱400 Million or $7.2 Million). Currently, its floor price is at 0.2834 ETH, or about ₱18,600 or $337 which is more than triple the original price.

According to data from Dune Analytics, there were about 13,000 collectors that minted 3.5 tokens upon the release of the collection. 

Moreover, to avail the guarantees of a ticket to a dinner with Trump 115 users have purchased 45 NFTs, while 17 people purchased 100 NFTs–the maximum quantity allowed to mint. 

What are the Trump Digital Trading Cards?

It is a collection of 45,000 fantasy-themed NFTs which features images of Trump in a style similar to collectible baseball cards. The announcement for the launch was announced via Truth Social, the social media site he founded last year.

“My official Donald Trump Digital Trading Card collection is here! These limited edition cards feature (the) amazing ART of my Life & Career!” he stated in his video announcement. 

The tokens were minted in Polygon, and initially cost $99–which can be purchased with ether (ETH) or in fiat currency.

For its rarity, Trump’s cards will have traits from one-of-ones to just 2, 5, 7, or 10 copies. 

“No Trump Digital Trading Card will have more than 20 copies in existence,” they guaranteed.

According to their website, purchasing just one collectible will automatically qualify the buyer to enter a sweepstakes for “1000’s of prizes” —including Dinner with Trump in Miami, a cocktail hour at Mar-a-Lago, a zoom call, play golf with friends in one of Trump’s golf courses, hand signed memorabilia, among others.
