From the metaverse into the physical realm, non-fungible tokens (NFT) are about to join another in-real-life event.

A wide variety of artworks from Filipino NFT artists will be featured and displayed during the TOYCON 2022, the biggest gathering of toy collectors and aficionados in the Philippines. The event will be held at the Megatrade Hall, SM Megamall from July 8 to 10.

TOYCON 2022 is a pop culture event; a “grand showcase of toys, games, movies, cosplay, anime, and collectibles.” Top toy creators, artists, designers, studios, and celebrities will also be present at the celebration.

To highlight the emerging world of NFTs, Smart Signature, the postpaid brand of mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc., will host an NFT Talk with Paul Soliman, the Chairman, CEO and CTO of BYC Inc. (Bayanichain) and Founder of Hacktiv Colab Inc, and QUICCS, who will dish out insider scoop on his NFT game BulletPunk BitWars. The two will talk about the basics of NFT and the fast-growing NFT Community.

Filipino-made NFT artworks will also be featured and displayed in a digital exhibit at the Smart Signature booth at TOYCON. The list of Filipino NFT artists to be featured includes; Quiccs, Sevi Agregado, Vito Chipz, Jopet Arias, Marso Ya, Mej Valencia, IJ Cacnio, Bjorn Calleja, Arman Kendrick, Gio Birondo, Mark Constantine Inducil, Jarrett Cross, and Shill Water.

In another real-life event conducted last month, Unbox Con 2022, a premier convention for collectors, the organizers included an innovative approach by offering tickets in the form of NFTs. The platinum NFT VIP tickets provided several event freebies and also a long-term feature where they can also receive perks for the succeeding Unbox Con events in the future. Another event on July 8th is the new exhibit of the 72-year-old visual artist Carlos, which aims to bridge NFTs with traditional art. In “The Colors of Carlos” art exhibition, he will display his paintings and sculpture along with his pieces of crypto art masterpieces which were made in collaboration with artist and motion designer Isaiah Cacnio.
