What is the Galeria Paloma NFT Exhibition in Art Fair Philippines?

The exhibition features physical art, phygital art, and digital/new media art by artists who have been selected for their contributions to the digital and new media landscapes both in the Philippines and internationally.

This year’s roster includes Skye Nicolas, Luis Buenaventura, Bjorn Calleja, Jopet Arias, The Alarcon Brothers, Carlos, Wyn-Lyn Tan, Raymond Lauchengco, AJ Dimarucot, Aswang, Sevi Agregado, Isaiah Cacnio, and Sheila Ledesma.

The gallery held a press launch last week to discuss more about the upcoming exhibition. Present in the launch are Buenaventura, Calleja, Arias, Agregado, Cacnio, and Ledesma, while Tan and Nicolas joined the presscon virtually.

“We really approach digital art as a medium of art and has nothing to do with cryptocurrency. People have a lot of questions about that, but for us, having tangible works of art, whether or not you buy or trade them or not, we feel art always has an inherent value, crypto is just another way to transact,” Galeria Paloma said in a statement.

Parallel Exhibition in Milan, Italy

The exhibition will be displayed simultaneously at NINFA Labs in Milan, Italy, showcasing the gallery’s aim to be an international platform for its artists and to embrace technological advances in art display. Carlo Borloni, head of sales for NINFA, said in a statement, “We believe regardless of how digitalized the world has become, there’s still a significant need for human interaction. It’s crucial to be able to offer a space for traditional collectors who are curious to learn about this new digital world.”

Galeria Paloma’s director, Kimi Delgado, expressed delight in offering “Parallel” on NINFA’s gallery and online platform. “This is in line with our goals to align with the best platforms internationally in order to afford more exposure to the artists we represent, as well as to embrace technological advances allowing for an original work of art to be exhibited in two (or more) locations.”

Partnership with Samsung the Frame

The gallery has once again partnered with Samsung The Frame to display the digital artworks, with The Frame’s 4K resolution and smart TV features, streamlined design, matte, non-reflective screen, and art frame-like bezels making it the ultimate solution for art display.

Collectors of each artwork will own both the physical and digital forms/versions of the pieces, including the NFT.
