Technology company and search engine giant Google named play-to-earn game Axie Infinity as the number one in the game-related list of top search queries this year in the country as it released the lists of top searches in the Philippines for 2021 under different categories.
Along with Axie Infinity, other games that belong to the Top 10 search queries in ‘game-related’ category are: Dragonary, a non-fungible token (NFT) game; CryptoBlades, a play-to-earn game; Specimen Zero, a survival horror game; My DeFi Pet, a play-to-earn game; Sausage Man, a cartoon-styled video game; KaraStar, a blockchain game; Valorant, a tactical video game; Among Us, a social deduction game; and Genshin Impact, an action role-playing game.
On the other hand, the other categories Google released are News, Olympics, Sports, Shows or Series, Songs or Lyrics, Male Personalities, Female Personalities, Movies, Korean Personalities, Korean Series, and the Overall Top Trending Searches.
“Looking at other queries, we see six out of 10 searches for entertainment. This shows the passion of Filipinos and their use of the internet and Google as a way to detach and escape during the second year of the Pandemic,” the company stressed.

According to activeplayer.io, the Philippines is the top country in terms of number of players of Axie Infinity.
Earlier this month, Vietnam-based gaming firm Sky Mavis revealed that Axie Infinity will soon reach a total of three million daily active users, while the growth of its Ronin’s number of daily transaction volume quadrupled.
Last December 4, 2021, the First Ever Axie Infinity Creator Cup started with eight Filipino content creators as contestants.
