Due to its steady (and increasing) popularity, it is unsurprising that blockchain games never fail to be the talk of town among crypto-enthusiasts; players are always looking forward to the newest game that would satisfy their gamer rush. What are the latest games in the metaverse right now? This BitPinas article features games that have caught clout recently and are set to launch in April.

Axie Infinity: Origin

Axie Infinity: Origin

Sky Mavis announced the release of Axie infinity: Origin last April 7. The introduction of each class, runes, and charms brings more interest to what the alpha phase of the blockchain game could do.

In a livestream led by Jeff Zirlin and some of the Sky Mavis team, a lot of the gameplay was showcased to future Origin players.

Starter Axies are now available to all who want to try out the game before acquiring their own NFT pets to go higher into the ranks.

DeFi Kingdoms

DeFi Kingdoms

DeFi Kingdoms is an Avalanche-based blockchain game. It has its own decentralized exchange (DEX) and a liquidity pool opportunity for CRYSTAL farming. It also has a market of rare utility driven NFTs in the incredibly nostalgic form of fantasy pixel art. Users can use the blockchain game to mine JEWEL to purchase ingame NFT assets in its own marketplace.

DeFi Kingdoms’ Crystalvale is now live and enthusiasts can enter the blockchain game by logging in with their wallet. You need to purchase or rent an NFT hero to be able to use within the game. Your hero can have several professions: miner, fisher, forger, and gardener, where you can use them to acquire resources and JEWEL.

Illuvium

Illuvium

Illuvium, a AAA blockchain game, has announced that their version 2 for staking is now live. After fixing what happened last December where several ILV accounts were hacked through a link sent by a hacker on their Discord server and $150,000 worth of assets were stolen, ILV holders can now stake and contribute to the community as the game is still in development.

Illuvium is a AAA blockchain game built on the Ethereum blockchain. This NFT role playing game (RPG) is inspired by Pokemon where you can collect Illuvials and use them for battle. Illuvials are in-game alien-like creatures that can be collected using Shards across the game regions.

As of their roadmap, there will be a land sale for this quarter and Beta testing will soon be available. Registration for beta testers is available at their website.

Sunflower Land

Here is another game that is available on April 7. This game literally broke the Polygon Network when many players suddenly entered the blockchain game, causing the transactions in the network to slow. Sunflower Land, formerly Sunflower Farmers, had halted its operations last January to improve their gameplay and security to eliminate bots from farming its native token.

The NFT items and token will be available on April 15 and will be tradable in the marketplace.

Ascenders

Ascenders is a free-to-play blockchain game based on the Avalanche network. It is a role playing game (RPG) whose items and characters are NFTs and tradable in the marketplace.

Its developer has launched a month-long event for players to go up the ranks in their leaderboard to get a chance to win the prize pool of one million AGC. Players who have the highest amount of score orbs in a timed attack game wins the prize. To know more of this visit, https://www.ascenders.gg/events.

Nitro League

For race car enthusiasts, Nitro League has opened their Garage, their own native marketplace, for users to be able to buy their own NFT race cars set in the year 3050. Races can be rewarded with items and NITRO based on their ranking. Within the second quarter, the developers will release its single and multiplayer games for race car enthusiasts to enjoy. YGGSEA is in partnership with the developers of the game and is looking forward to a great start.

From battle type, to role playing and racing gaming, surely game enthusiasts can look forward to more games that may come in the future. Many developers are building up more exciting games utilizing blockchain technology.
