- Former Program Lead for Esports & Content Creators of Axie Infinity, Andrew Campbell (Zyori), has joined web3 game developer Laguna Games as its new Product and Market Growth Lead.
- Campbell will help Laguna Games to expand its lineup of games that will utilize its NFT unicorn pets, creating a “multiverse” of Crypto Unicorns experiences.
- Crypto Unicorns is a browser-based video game built around NFT unicorns and land plots minted on Polygon, with a focus on land gameplay and customization.
A few weeks after announcing that he will depart from Sky Mavis, former Program Lead for Esports & Content Creators for the popular game Axie Infinity Andrew Campbell (aka Zyori) recently shared that he will take another major role in a web3 game developer, Laguna Games, as its new Product and Market Growth Lead.
Laguna Games is an international gaming company that also has an office in the Philippines and is the game developer behind the Polygon-based non-fungible token game Crypto Unicorns.
“I’m excited to join their product team and be working directly with the Unicorn community on bringing their ideas to life!” Zyori tweeted.
For his new role, Campbell will help the game developer to expand its lineup such as creating potential additional games that will utilize its NFT unicorn pets—creating a “multiverse” of Crypto Unicorns experiences.
“I’ve been impressed with the distinctive art style, commitment to experimentation, and activity within the DAO,” Zyori shared.
In the press release shared by Laguna Games, Zyori shared about being a fan of Crypto Unicorns since its initial 2021 NFT mint, highlighting that the game has “maintained a very engaged community” that is eager to participate in decentralized governance.
On February 4th, he shared the news that February will be my last month working at Sky Mavis.
“It has been an incredible, life-changing experience to work on @AxieInfinity for the last two years, but it has come time for the next step in my career journey… Even though I will no longer be working on Axie full time, I still strongly believe that gamers deserve more digital property rights. Blockchain will be the key technology to achieve this,” he stated.
Zyori led Sky Mavis to move Axie Infinity into competitive play, including last year’s Axie Infinity World Championship in Axie Convention, in Barcelona, Spain.
He was also active in participating in real life events. In fact, Zyori was present in the first official Axie Infinity meetup in the Philippines. Prior to these, BitPinas was also able to interview him live.
