In this exclusive interview with BitPinas, the BSP discussed the challenges of 2020, its position on cryptocurrencies, virtual asset service providers in the country, and the key benefits for international crypto companies if they register in the Philippines.
Peter: We believe in the narrative that games will be the biggest driver of mass adoption for blockchain and crypto. Play2Earn is not only limited to games but encompasses the NFT space too, including digital collectibles, virtual worlds, art and multitude of other opportunities.
Ken: I have high hopes that one day, we will be having a mass adoption of blockchain technology here in the Philippines not just limited to banks.
Gabby: 2021 is when crypto products in NFTs and DeFi will truly reach the mass market – the application layer is now good enough that normal users will start interacting with dapps not fully knowing that they are blockchain applications.
