Despite numerous layoffs amid the Coronavirus pandemic, many firms are also looking to hire more people. One of them is Facebook’s Calibra team, which is expanding to more roles in its Ireland office.
With 1,500 companies expressing their intention to join the project, Libra Association said around 180 of these have met the criteria.
Facebook is keen to make its cryptocurrency project Libra secure and as such, it launches a bug bounty program that will pay security researchers up to $10,000 in rewards.
Dozens of Facebook pages and groups seem to mislead the public, claiming they are the official accounts of Libra, Facebook’s upcoming cryptocurrency.
Mr. Jameson Lopp, an expert in cryptocurrency and blockchain examines the 26-page technical document describing how Libra works.
“Bottom line: You won’t have to trust Facebook to get the benefit of Libra. And Facebook won’t have any special responsibility over the Libra Network.”
The letter said the whitepaper did not provide more information on the “intent, roles, potential use, and security” that Libra and Calibra will expose the public to.
Facebook has unveiled the Libra cryptocurrency, targeting billions of unbanked whose familiarity with the social network might be a catalyst for its mass adoption.
