Though the $HEART campaign has already concluded, Tapos seems to be hosting more games like it in the future.

Transactions on the layer 1 blockchain Aptos on May 24 and 25, 2024, reached 90 million and 115 million, respectively, according to data from Aptoscan.

The record exceeded Solana’s 31.7 million transactions on Saturday and almost doubled the all-time record holder, Sui Network, with 65 million. Solana is known for hosting the highest daily transactions.

What could be the reason for this influx?

Tapos Introduction

On May 23, the Tapos mainnet went live.

Tapos (https://tapos.xyz/) is a tickle-to-earn game built on the Aptos Network. It is considered a clicker game because players can earn tokens by tapping the screen.

In Tapos, players tickle a cat on the screen to complete tasks and earn $HEART tokens.

Surprisingly, besides its own app (https://tapos.xyz/tapos), Tapos is also a Telegram-based bot (https://t.me/aptosspambot/taptos), “offering simplicity, security, and limitless earning potential” within the Aptos ecosystem.

“Effortlessly transfer, and mine $HEART directly on Telegram, all while enjoying the convenience of seamless transactions,” the developers promoted.

It’s worth noting that another Telegram-based clicker game known as Notcoin is also popular.

Is Tapos the Reason for Transaction Surge?

Since its launch on May 23, Tapos has hosted a three-day campaign. The campaign allowed anyone with an Aptos-compatible wallet to tickle the cat, farm $HEART, and enjoy a no-gas fee experience.

As the campaign concluded, there were 323,477,428 tickles recorded from 63,192 accounts, averaging 5,119 clicks per account.

However, the team uses the word “tickle” interchangeably with “transactions”—323,477,428 transactions.

Each time a user tickles the cat on Tapos, a transaction is generated on Aptos. This transaction updates the global counter of total tickles and the per-user counter.

Despite some opinions that these transactions are meaningless, the team clarified their significance. The large number of transactions Tapos produced proved that Aptos could handle such a volume.

“These are all non-trivial transactions pushing the boundary with Aptos and showing what can be done at scale. These are not just fake account creation transactions or token transfers. These are transactions that a game built on blockchain would send, like we did with Tapos.”

Tapos Airdrop

Although the $HEART campaign has concluded, Tapos seems to be planning more games in the future.

The hint comes from the platform’s FAQ:

“Each game lasts for a specific amount of time, for example, three days. After the game ends, you can claim $HEART token rewards based on how many tickles you did compared to all players.”

The phrase “each game” suggests there will be more tickle games hosted by Tapos, leading to more $HEART farming opportunities and more transactions on the Aptos Blockchain.

To join the future games it will host:

  • Step 1: Go to the website or the Telegram bot provided in the introduction part.
  • Step 2: Wait for a wallet to be generated.
  • Step 3: Send some APT to the wallet generated by the game before playing.
    •  0.1 $APT is sufficient for more than 10,000 tickles
  • Step 4: Tickle-all-you-can.
  • Step 5: Wait for the campaign to end before receiving the $HEART rewards.
