PDAX AVP: Axie Infinity is Still the Opening Act

Nix Eniego, the Assistant Vice President of cryptocurrency exchange Philippine Digital Assets Exchange (PDAX), is quoted saying that Axie Infinity is not yet on its peak and that he is excited to see the games’ upcoming updates. Nix mentioned this during the first episode of BitPinas’ weekly webcast.
“I think sometimes people forget (that) this game has barely started. I feel like Axie Infinity in many ways is still the opening act,” he stated.

Nix reminded people who get “frustrated, impatient and angry about the current price of SLP” (Smooth love Potion), the in-game commodity token of Axie Infinity, that this is not yet the finale and the game is “just getting started.”
Further, he noted that he is “very bullish and optimistic for December” based on what he is seeing in terms of the game updates that are bound to happen next month, citing “land community alpha” which is on the game’s Q4 2021 plans.

Nix also emphasized that he would always give Sky Mavis, the developer of Axie Infinity, the benefit of the doubt because in everything the gaming firm says “they would do, they have done.”
“I always believe in them because they have not done anything otherwise para magduda ka (for you to doubt them).” he added.
The PDAX AVP then reiterated that while it is wise to swap SLPs for other forms of crypto, right now he feels that he’d rather wait as something might happen in December that would affect the current SLP price.
“But it (still) depends on how good Land is and how many SLP burning mechanisms will go there. And if they’ll do another Christmas breeding event, the last time they announced that was on December 20 of last year. Malay mo this December 20 again, we don’t know. But something tells me that the game has 2.5 million users, they will gonna do something for us,” he added.
Last Wednesday, Axie Infinity announced a breeding event – the breeder who will birth the 10 millionth Axie will win a Tanuki Mystic land item, which increases base stats of Axies with “Japanese body parts” by 10% and Chimera item drop rate by 5%. Automation is prohibited during the event which will start this week.
Land, on the other hand, according to the last development update, is still “under development.” The last published update includes, the latest upgrade to the art, an increase on the total size of land plots to allow for more functionality, rules and requirements around inventory management, different map and camera views, and tech trees and structures. As well as defining the bonuses and advantages of various land types. The research and experimentation around upgrading resource requirements has also started.
Land is a feature in Axie Infinity that will allow players to build up a base by gathering resources and building structures and decorations. Players will be able to fight for control of neutral territory and resources.
