PBW x DICT: Block Bytes – Blockchain 101 for Students

This September 18 – 22, 2023, the Philippine Blockchain Week will be held at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Pasay City. Together with the Blockchain Council of the Philippines, Web 3.0 Association of the Philippines, Coins.ph, and Women In Blockchain Asia, the DICT-IIDB will be co-organizing the following events:

Block Bytes: Blockchain 101 for Students

A half day session designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to blockchain technology, covering its core concepts, applications, and potential impact. Led by industry experts, you’ll explore topics such as decentralized networks, cryptocurrencies, smart contracts, real-world use cases, career opportunities, and more.

Blockchain as a Solution for Social Problems for Students

A whole-day, in-depth workshop that aims to position Blockchain as a viable solution for social problems. Confirmed attendees will participate in an online Ideation Hackathon, one to two weeks after the event.

When: September 21, 2023, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

These events aim to promote the entrepreneurial and innovative mindset among students, as well as feature emerging technologies like blockchain to become viable solutions and tools for innovation. These events serve as stepping stones for students who have bright and innovative ideas that can help solve everyday problems; both events are geared towards the goal of further providing the fundamentals of a hackathon, relevant frameworks, useful tips, and ultimately the development of their innovative and entrepreneurial mindsets.
