During the interview, Ms. Su was asked whether she thought blockchain is “temporary in nature.” She answered:

“The long-term technology around blockchain is an important technology, and weโ€™re spending a lot of time with some of the key influencers in this area, so I think itโ€™ll be here for the next 3, 4, 5 years. Now what it does tomorrow vs. yesterday, I think thatโ€™s anyoneโ€™s guess.”

It is reported that the multinational semiconductor company’s stocks went up by 11% on April 25. CNBC then asked if the profit was from underplaying the role of Ethereum Mining that caused the 23% of 2018 revenue, to which Ms. Su answered that it’s around 10%. The CEO believed that while mining added to the company’s revenue, it is not yet a major factor in AMD’s growth.
