Coinex Promotes Blockchain Education at PUP San Juan Career Expo

Cryptocurrency exchange CoinEx was one of the sponsors of the recent Career Expo at Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) – San Juan Campus on February 17, 2024. The event was attended by hundreds of fourth-year students and prominent banking institutions.

According to a statement, CoinEx joined several known institutions like J.P. Morgan and Landbank of the Philippines at the PUP-San Juan Career Expo. The exchange facilitated internship opportunities for students, alongside other sponsors including banking giants like Security Bank and rural banks like MVSM Bank. 

Moreover, CoinEx also provided incentives for attendees. Those who signed up for CoinEx during the event were entered into a raffle with a prize of ₱10,000. 

Additionally, CoinEx’s Global Partner, Dell, delivered a presentation on the CoinEx ecosystem, educating attendees about the platform’s capabilities and potential career opportunities within the cryptocurrency industry.

“The PUP-San Juan Career Expo was not just a gathering of students and institutions; it was a testament to the power of collaboration and investment in the future. Through initiatives like these, organizations like CoinEx continue to pave the way for a brighter tomorrow, where talent is nurtured, opportunities abound, and dreams are within reach,” the media release read.

In 2022, CoinEx Charity participated in Brigada Eskwela, a nationwide charity program in the Philippines, by visiting IMok Elementary School and Sta Anastacia-San Rafael High School. The organization donated school supplies worth over $2,000 to support the children’s education. The event included the provision of various learning materials such as paper, fans, masks, pencils, crayons, and printers.

In 2023, blockchain education-focused platform The BLOKC had partnerships with Mapua University’s School of Information Technology and Lyceum University of the Philippines (LPU) to enhance blockchain education. The collaboration with Mapua involves structured internships, faculty training, curriculum review, and capacity-building activities like hackathons and seminars. Currently offered as a free elective at Mapua, blockchain education is slated to become a specialization in the future. Meanwhile, the agreement with LPU focuses on integrating blockchain education into its College of Technology, aiming to empower students, enhance education, and foster a dynamic learning environment through initiatives such as internships, faculty development programs, and educational tours.

Last May, Binance Academy concluded the initial phase of its Southeast Asia University Tour in the Philippines, visiting five universities including the Asia Institute of Management, University of Batangas, National University Laguna, Enderun Colleges, and Far Eastern University. The tour, aimed at promoting global blockchain and digital currency literacy, involves visits to 75 educational institutions across 25 countries.
