Although the pride month is already over, mobile e-wallet GCash disclosed recently that its benefits program will now also cover the LGBTQIA+ and domestic partners of their employees.
Life Partner Benefits Program
In a statement, GCash stated it aligned the initiative to promote gender equality in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 5.
The new program allows employees to extend benefits to their partners, irrespective of gender or marital status.
According to GCash Chief People Officer Robert Gonzales, the life program will provide beneficiaries with services such as health insurances and Disability and Accident Insurance. It also includes coverage for bereavement needs, wellness allowances, as well as access to tech apps such as KonsultaMD and Mind You.
“At GCash, we understand that our employees have different needs, including wanting to take care of their loved ones,” Gonzales stated.
Minimal documentation is required for employees to declare their partners as dependents.
“We made sure our application process for this program is easy and simple. We want all of our GCash kabarkadas to have access to company benefits that will help uplift their quality of life, without any bias or discrimination,” added Gonzales.
