Axie Infinity Hosts Global Event in Honor of PH Independence
Featuring Filipino-themed prizes, “Filipino Fiesta Contest” started last June 9 and will end on June 13, 2023.

In line with the Philippine’s celebration of independence every June 12, game developer Sky Mavis announced that the popular play-to-earn game Axie Infinity is currently having a “Filipino Fiesta Contest.”
Featuring Filipino-themed prizes, the contest started last June 9 and will end today, June 13, 2023.
The Filipino Fiesta Contest
“We honor the Philippines, the beating heart of the axie movement. Happy Independence day,” Sky Mavis Co-Founder Jeffrey “Jihoz” Zirlin tweeted.
Although Philippine-themed, the contest is available to all Axie Infinity players worldwide, where they may win Avatars, stickers, and borders that represent the Filipino culture.
“Compete in fierce Origins battles, earn Fortune Chests, and honor the incredible community — and country — that helped make Axie Infinity what it is today,” Axie Infinity wrote.
Moreover, Nix Eniego,the Philippine lead of Sky Mavis, also expressed his delight with the country’s highlight in the game:
“This entire weekend in Axie Infinity is dedicated to the Axie PH community. I’ve been gaming for decades, and I have never played a game that did something like this for the Philippines. Our country is now fully immortalized in the Axie universe.”
The Philippines is one of the countries worldwide that rapidly increased the adoption and play rate of the game in 2021, particularly in Cabanatuan—the symbolic birthplace of Axie Infinity. The city is widely recognized as the Axie Capital of the Philippines.

Fortune Chests
Fortune Chests was also introduced in line with the Filipino Fiesta, which served as its inaugural event. It offers exciting gameplay and additional rewards, including Moonshards, crafting materials, and even up to 100,000 SLP.
There are four types: Bronze, Gold, Diamond, and the rarest of all, Aurora, each with varying rewards and drop rates. Players with a Chick rank or above have a minimum 50% chance of receiving a Fortune Chest when winning a Ranked Stamina Battle in Origins during the Filipino Fiesta. Playing more increases the chances of obtaining a Fortune Chest, and higher-ranked players can expect better rewards.
The highly sought-after Aurora Fortune Chest is the most valuable and rewarding among the collection. With a rare maximum drop rate of 3% per victory, it holds the potential for a significant 100,000 SLP prize for the lucky recipient.
To have a chance at obtaining an Aurora Fortune Chest, players must hold a Wolf rank or higher. However, newcomers and returning players can still enjoy a 50% chance of receiving a Bronze Fortune Chest by participating in a Ranked Stamina Battle at the Chick rank.

Sky Mavis recently released Axie Infinity: Origins on the Apple App Store, now available to iOS users in select Asian and Latin American countries. Additionally, they have introduced Mavis Market, an NFT marketplace built on their own blockchain Ronin.
In addition, the developers of the game accomplished a successful upgrade of Ronin to the Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism. This blockchain not only serves as a platform for four gaming studios but also grants them the chance to utilize the Axie Infinity intellectual property (IP) for their games. Furthermore, these studios have the option to create entirely new games on Ronin, featuring their unique IP.
