Inevitable Games Fund Begins Investment in Pixelmon, Key Promising Web3 Games

King River Capital and Immutable, with the assistance of Polygon Labs, have introduced the Inevitable Games Fund (IGF), an ecosystem-agnostic fund in the web3 gaming industry. The fund aims to identify lucrative investment opportunities.

According to the media release, IGF represents the dedication of King River Capital and Immutable to driving innovation and expansion within the web3 gaming sector.

Rice highlighted the significant growth potential in web3 technology, drawing parallels to the rapid rise of mobile gaming. He emphasizes that the Fund offers investors a chance to tap into top web3 gaming projects worldwide and capitalize on the substantial shift in spending towards this technology.

King River Capital leads the investment process for the Fund, with backing from Immutable and Polygon Labs in sourcing and web3 gaming expertise. The Fund, available exclusively to professional and sophisticated investors through private offering, has a maximum size of US$100 million.

In addition, it was noted that the IGF has already secured significant commitments, including an anchor investment from Alpha Wave Ventures, supported by Alpha Wave Global and the Abu Dhabi Royal Group’s Chimera Capital. 

It also received contributions from Merit Circle and various family offices, such as those of Mike Arrington, Co-Founder of CrunchFund and Arrington Capital; Steve Kokinos, of Sonic Boom Ventures and former CEO of Algorand; James and Robbie Ferguson, Co-Founders of Immutable; and Sandeep Nailwal, Co-Founder of Polygon Labs.

The media release stated that King River will manage the deployment of IGF capital across premier game studios, web3 infrastructure, and immersive gaming experiences, that are considered to redefine the digital entertainment landscape, regardless of the platform.

Pixelmon

Pixelmon is a decentralized web3 gaming IP. It immerses players in the fantastical realm of Nova Thera, where they assume the role of a Trainer tasked with guiding their team of Pixelmon to triumph. The game emphasizes community engagement and delves into its intricate lore. Players are incentivized with non-fungible token (NFTs) offering Right of Game benefits, granting ownership rights over aspects of the game’s intellectual property.
