Filipino-led web 3 gaming platform OP Games and W3GG, sub-DAO of Yield Guild Games formerly known as YGG SEA, recently inked a strategic partnership with the goal of empowering game developers to build on web3. The collaboration will release the Gaming Accelerator Program.

In a joint statement, the two firms announced that the collaboration aims to promote creativity, support developers, and accelerate the adoption of web 3 gaming through a series of initiatives to empower game developers and studios.

“Over the next few weeks, the duo will be announcing their panel of partners, mentors and judges as they roll out two programs at once!” the media release stated.

Chase Freo, CEO at OP Games expressed their excitement over the partnership and their new “transformative initiatives.”

“Together, we aim to unleash the true potential of web 3 gaming, fostering an ecosystem where creativity, collaboration, and innovation thrive.

Freo highlighted that the two firms will provide support and resources to both indie developers and game studios, to create “a future where web 3 gaming becomes the new standard, providing players with unparalleled experiences.”

“The Game Jam, Incubation, and Accelerator Programs are fantastic opportunities for developers and studios to harness the potential of blockchain technology and decentralized systems, paving the way for a more immersive and inclusive gaming landscape. We are excited to see the games that will come out from this program. Can’t wait to be the first to test and play it with our community,” Irene Umar, CEO at W3GG, said.

In a statement, the firms disclosed that the Accelerator Program is set to offer an accelerated route for established game studios looking to integrate web 3 features into their creations.

In addition, OP Games and W3GG shared that they will partner with select game studios to provide them with mentorship, technical support, and fundraising opportunities to build and launch web 3 games with confidence.

According to the media release, the Gaming Accelerator Program is intended to stimulate innovation in the gaming industry and promote the adoption of web 3 technologies by established players.

It also aims to nurture the development of the most brilliant minds in the gaming community, by helping them to bring their unique web 3 game concepts to life and empowering them to succeed in the ever-changing gaming industry.

In addition to the accelerator program, OP Games and W3GG also announced that they will host themed game jams throughout the year.

Game Jams is set to provide opportunities for aspiring game developers to demonstrate their skills and creativity in developing web 3 games. Participants will have the chance to work in groups or individually to utilize the potential of blockchain technology and decentralized gaming.

“The Game Jam promises to be an exhilarating event where new ideas are brought to life and innovative concepts are discovered,” the statement reads.
