Tambay NFT to Launch New Series, Teases Major Brand Partnership

The Filipino non-fungible token (NFT) collection, Tambay NFT, is set to launch a new series for its second season, focusing on Filipino financial practices. The collection will mint 5,000 NFTs, with the whitelist currently open.

Season 2
Following the sellout of the first batch of Tambay profile picture (PFP) NFTs in the original (OG) collection and season one, the creators are preparing to launch a new collection for the second season. This collection will depict the financial practices of Filipinos—highlighting both negative and commendable behaviors.
Tambay NFT shared that the collection’s aim is to commemorate both traditional and modern financial practices among Filipinos.
“The OG NFT had 500 supplies minted, Tambay Lang Season 1 had 1,000 supplies, and Season 2 will mint a larger number this time because we’re planning to reach a million users. Thus, 5,000 supplies will be minted.”

Currently, the whitelist for this batch is ongoing and open. Interested collectors can secure a whitelist spot for ₱295.
“A form will be announced and shared in our socials before June 2024. The form just collects the necessary details for the user’s account to get whitelisted. It’s super simple,” they shared.
As part of the second season, Tambay NFT participated in the recently concluded GCrypto Bitcoin Pizza Day celebration in BGC, Taguig City. All attendees had the opportunity to enter a merchandise giveaway, with 15 lucky individuals winning Tambay merchandise.
“As a surprise to those who attended the event last Bitcoin Pizza Day 2024 in GCrypto Office led by Luis Buenaventura, everyone was given a whitelist spot right away,” Olaya added.
Future Endeavors
Regarding its plans, Tambay NFT revealed that it has recently secured partnerships with a major brand in the Philippines. The details of this partnership have yet to be announced.
“This partnership will surely bring Tambay to a bigger audience and wider reach, hoping to convey its core message of ‘Celebrating the Colorful Culture of Filipinos from Past to Present’ to more Filipinos,” it teased.
Previous Activities
In July 2023, the Tambay OG Collection sold out on the local NFT marketplace Mintoo. It was launched on June 13, 2023, featuring 504 profile picture NFTs minted on the Polygon blockchain.
During last year’s August edition of Bitcoin, Beer, and Bitstories (BBB), Tambay NFT community leaders shared how they kept their community active despite the bear market by focusing on entertainment and humor.
Aside from their pitching during BBB, Tambay NFT also participated in other web3 community events such as the Mint and Greet, Philippine Blockchain Week, YGG Web3 Games Summit, Komiket, Tatak Pasigueño, and Mapua University Exhibit.
Earlier this year, the NFT collection Tambay launched the “Road of Web3 Less Travelled,” a 30-day journal aimed at educating newcomers about the web3 space. It was created by community leader Trexia Olaya (known as Kapitana) and is designed to make the complex world of web3 more accessible through self-reliant learning.
What is Tambay NFT
The Tambay NFT collection celebrates Filipino culture and humor. The collection aims to build a community embodying “Pinoy diskarte” and community-sourced life hacks, reflecting the Filipino trait of bayanihan (community cooperation).
“The Tambay NFT Collection serves as a digital space that encapsulates the colorful and funny daily Filipino experience, highlighting various aspects that define the essence of being a Filipino. By incorporating cultural elements into the NFT space, this collection contributes to the continuity of Filipino culture for future generations,” the concept of the collection read.
Commonly known as Tambay Lang PH on its social media accounts, it currently boasts over 31,000 followers on Facebook and Twitter, 141,100 followers and 773,200 likes on TikTok, and 1,100 members on Telegram.
