[Event Recap] CONQuest 2022 Features Metaverse in the Physical Realm
From the domains of the internet to the physical world, CONQuest Festival 2022 brought not only the fans and enthusiasts of art, cosplaying, gaming, technology, anime, and pop culture but also the web 3 and metaverse as well.
CONQuest Festival 2022 is a weekend-long expo for gaming, pop culture, and web3 in the Philippines, where thousands come together each year to celebrate their passions. It was held last July 23-24, 2022 at SMX Manila in Pasay City.
With a total of 15,000 square meters— 5 function rooms, and 3 halls—to experience, the expo goers were able to enjoy 160+ booths and 30+ local and international guests as well as the presence of various cosplayers and personalities from the gaming, technology and metaverse worlds.
Upon entrance on the ground floor, the attendees are welcomed with a huge arc with “CONQUEST” written on it, beside it were the booths of Predator Gaming and Rumble Royal, along with other tech companies like logitech, MSi, Globe, and Republic of Games, conducted games and interactive activities with generous prices for their fans.
Web 3 companies are, of course, also present in the event. Mobile e-wallets Coins.ph and PDAX are there and both of them have prepared games and prices–including cryptocurrencies– for their booth visitors. Organizer AcadArena also has their booth as well as other web 3 firms like, BlockchainSpace, Metacrafters, MetaSports, and Axie Infinity.
While CONQuest is known for championing gaming, this year, the event added another roster of games to their system; web 3 gaming. With the collaboration of AcadArena, MetaSports, and BlockchainSpace web 3 games held their own for competitive and friendly tournaments.
On our visit to Axie Infinity’s premium lounge, we got to meet Sky Mavis Philippines Lead Nix Eniego and his fluffy Smooth Love Potion.
On the second floor, aside from the various booths and stores from local artists and the community stage where the cosplay tournaments and talks happen, the informative booths of Metacrafters are also there to educate the event attendees about the difference between the web 1, web 2, and web 3. They also provided insightful discussion about their platform and the metaverse.
Fintech start-up XLD Finance also have their booth where they give attendees the chance to immortalize their experience through free photoprint– which also gives them the chance to win either load or cryptocurrency if they succeed in a challenge.
Further making the experience memorable even into the metaverse, expo attendees with a Coinbase Wallet are also given a free Quintella CONQuest Collectible plus an attendee-exclusive version with special benefits. Quintella is a limited edition non-fungible token (NFT) designed by event organizer AcadArena and was minted in the eco-friendly chain Polygon.
