March 5, 2020 – 7,036 cryptocurrency ATMs have been installed worldwide according to tracking website CoinATMRadar.

CoinATMRadar has listed 7,036 Crypto ATMS in 75 countries, including in the Philippines. Cointelegraph reports that 11.7 Crypto ATMs are installed per day.

More data from CoinATMRadar reveals that majority of ATM manufacturers have increased their output. Genesis Coin, for example ended 2019 with 2,237 machines from 2,091. Bitstop increased by 47% – from 48 – 68 at the end of the year.

As for the machines of operators, CoinFlip Bitcoin ATMs increased their machines to 450 from 414 in 2019. Bitbox Depot increased to 536 from 502 while ATM Coiners increased to 99 from 66.

As for the countries, the US charges ahead with 4,533 Crypto ATMs from 4,208. Canada comes 2nd with 682 machines and the UK with 282.

Bitcoin remains the most supported cryptocurrency. 6,701 machines supported the world’s largest cryptocurrency by market cap. This is followed by Litecoin with 4,536 machines that support it. Ether is at 4,020. Monero has the most machines that do not support it anymore – from 211 down to 185.

While there is just a small amount of Bitcoin ATMs in the Philippines, that di not stop the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to issuing a memorandum stating that all operators of virtual currency ATMs in the Philippines must first be registered and licensed by the agency.
