Axie Infinity’s Ronin Network Adds YGG, Three Others as Validators
Ronin Network, an Ethereum-linked sidechain created to be used for the play-to-earn game Axie Infinity, revealed that it has added four new validators, namely: Coco Bear, Dialectec, QU3ST, and Yield Guild Games.
Coco Bear
Coco Bear is a non-fungible token (NFT) collector, including Axies.
He owns some of the rarest Axies and multiple Land plots in Lunacia.
Coco Bear, as the new validator, will serve as the technical contact and will manage the technical portion of running the server.
Dialectic
Dialectic is a financial service company. It is a multi-family office with a focus on alternative assets.
Its services include unlocking cyphers to create outlier value for its member families, supporting both their financial and personal management holistically.
According to Ronin, Dialectic is an investor in Axie Infinity and Sky Mavis with a vested interest in the success of the Ronin network.
QU3ST
QU3ST us a Web 3.0 guild. It is just not focused on gaming, but also on content creation, social media, and community management.
It is the second group to be accepted through the community application process of Sky Mavis.
As a validator, QU3ST is expected to onboard and foster model Lunacians for Axie Infinity’s digital nation through a culture of gaming, education, and positivity.
QU3ST will also handle the Axie Creator program.
YGG
Yield Guild Games (YGG) is a Filipino-led decentralized gaming guild.
Last March 2022, YGG announced that it already has 27,000 scholars across Southeast Asia, India, and Latin America – 20,000 of them are Axie Infinity players.
Its Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) holds more than 26 thousand Axies and 235 parcels of land.
According to Ronin, YGG’s Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer Owl of Moistness will help run the validator.
Owl of Moistness is known for building a breeding algorithm for Axie Infinity and many bots on discord to integrate the blockchain for NFTs.
What does a Ronin Validator do?
Validators are tasked to check and verify transactions in the Ronin Network.
“Each validator was carefully reviewed and selected to ensure that Ronin has active, responsive, and secure validators backing the network,” the announcement read.
Last April, Ronin also added five validators on Ronin Bridge, the bridge connecting the network to the Ethereum Mainnet.
It should be remembered that Ronin Bridge was just re-opened last Jun 28, 2022 after the operations of Ronin Bridge and decentralized exchange Katana have been halted late at night on March 29 after suffering an exploit for 173,600 Ethereum (ETH) and 25.5 million USD Coin (USDC) which are worth a combined $625 million.
